![]() because of the twist, people are discouraged to play again because the characters technically aren't "saveable" after all. it's not as good when it comes to replay ability. it's kind of controversial, some people love it, some people think it feels cheap and makes the game feel pointless. ![]() but daniel, for example, i find to be kind of boring (sorry daniel stans). i think john, for example, is a well written character, he's pretty realistic and can have some good development. ![]() characters, there's kind of a mixed bag here. they all have unique designs for each character and i think it's interesting how taylor's demon can be different depending on how tanya dies in the prologue. still one of the best, the scene with the burning house and with the whole family dying is gory, tense, and shocking, and sets the tone for the game really well. the witch trials is a really cool idea to explore and i think this game really took that to its advantage. it's the only dark pictures game that doesn't have any daylight until the end, and with all the fog and stuff it's really atmospheric. Little Hope is one of my favorite games, and while I know I won't be able to change your mind, and I don't intend to, I hope that perhaps I can shed a little light on your question.- atmosphere. It feels like Anthony, just by merit of going through the process, seems to have an impact on Vince, who has been shackled with grief since the beginning.Īpologies, gonna paste an answer I put elsewhere here, if ya don't mind. We see possible clues to this outcome in the best ending. The whole game is about freeing Anthony from the causality of the past, so that he can rebirth himself and live anew, so that way he can go on to help others and lead others out of the dark. His choice to let go of the baseless blame, the witch hunt for his little sister, allows him to free himself. Seeing them fight the "causal influences" supposedly chaining them down, helps him believe that he can move on as well. Him seeing his "family redeem themselves" gives him hope that he can "redeem himself" as well. It's because he's not only seeing a lot of this from a third party perspective, because he is actively analyzing his emotions, but also because it's difficult for him to to fully connect with it like someone who is dissociating. The trauma, the guilt, how he tries to find who is to really blame for it all (no one), and the feelings of grief he has been carrying with him for so long over his family, it muddles his mind, and is the main reason he has the locked traits that he does, especially the Detached one. There is some key clues that Anthony was the mediator in his family, and that he has an extremely kind heart and is very empathetic, and he wanted to try to hold his family together even when everyone was drifting in different directions or just becoming isolated from each other, disconnected as a family. How separated they were, how selfish they often were. It's also about the flaws he saw in his family. The cool thing is that it's not just about Anthony' survivor's guilt. It sucks because I LOVED little hope, and while I don’t think the ending is inherently bad I think it was just poorly suited for the game and (for me at least) negatively impacts any replay value It was such an awesome moment but with the hindsight of “none of them are real” it just really took the wind out of my sails. Same with Johns confrontation, and even Angela’s. The second time around I just…kinda didn’t care. Not long after that daniel confronts his demon, and I was SO proud of him and so hyped up the first time I played it and we beat its ass. I replayed a couple of chapters to save taylor bc I lost her after I picked “don’t let go” and failed the heartbeat. ![]() I was super invested in the characters and in what I thought the story was (some kind of colliding timeline/reincarnation thing that i was REALLY excited to uncover), so when the ending happened it was just kind of underwhelming. I just felt it was a bad ending for this particular game. I got a little emotional the first time so I agree it’s well written and meaningful. I can appreciate the ending, and I don’t think it’s bad on its own.
